Here is a collection of some of our favourites that we collaborate with at ROX. There will be many more to come throughout this journey.
Skilleby Trädgård
Skilleby Trädgård is a KRAV-certified and biodynamic farm outside of Järna.
Martin och Frida, who run the farm, are two of the foremost producers of local, beautiful and tasty vegetables and fruit in Sweden. They have run their farm for 20 years, never wavering from their focus to grow first-class vegetables in a closely symbiotic relationship with nature.
Bondens skafferi
Bondens skafferi is a small-scale wholesale supplier of vegetables, helping small farmers and producers to distribute their bounty. They work in conjunction with the farmers and are experts at what vegetables are at their pinnacle, at any given time. Petter is also phenomenal at finding those odd goodies we are always looking for.
Bee charmer Malin Häger
Malin is an enthusiastic beekeeper who keeps 9 hives, ensuring that the land and woodlands around her farm are alive and bursting with flowers.
Gårdsfisk
Gårdsfisk is a circular, acquaponic fish farm in Skåne, cultivating fish in tanks on dry land, one of few sustainable ways of cultivating fish without polluting the water or medicating the fish. Gårdsfisk is at the forefront when it comes to fish farming and is constantly developing!
Havstenssunds ostron
Havstenssunds ostron have their farms located close to Havstenssund in the north of Bohus County, an old centre for the oyster trade. Havsstenssunds ostron actively work with ecological awareness and sustainability in their oyster farms. They also free dive for giga oysters and seaweed for the restaurant.
Karshamra Mat och Trädgård
Karshamra Mat & Trädgård is run by the couple Mauritz and Agnes. They run the farm with a clear gastronomic focus, since they have both worked in the restaurant industry before they started their orchard business. Their goal is to work for a sustainable relationship between cultivation and produce as well as to increase the knowledge and practices of a sound ecosystem between produce and orchard.
Orust Shellfish
Adriaan at Orust Shellfish is a very prominent Dutch guy with a massive passion for mussels, oysters and shellfish. He free dives and runs a mussel and oyster farm in Orust and often thinks outside the box. E.g. he discovered the canoe oyster some years ago and managed to introduce gigantic giga oysters to Stockholm’s finest parlours. A true pioneer!
Lykke kaffegårdar
At the coffee roastery Lykke kaffegårdar in Farsta, a bunch of coffee enthusiasts meet to roast outstanding coffee as well as to revolutionize the coffee industry. By aiding the coffee growers and their communities to discontinue the use of pesticides, increase their knowledge and refine techniques through mentorship, they contribute to develop the industry. This makes Lykke a sustainable choice in the coffee jungle! Teaching new, sustainable techniques on site and aiding farmers in getting better remuneration for their produce is what makes them coffee heroes!
Hagshultskossorna
Is there such a thing as retired dairy cows? Yes, that is exactly what Hagshults is: a boarding house for cows that have retired from milk production and deserve some peace and quiet and comfort. By taking care of elderly cows and providing them with good fodder, wonderful surroundings and tranquility, they contribute substantially to the sustainability within the meat industry. Also, their products are delicious!
Värmdö Bryggeri & Musteri
Värmdö Bruggeri is a small, charming brewery in the middle of the beautiful Stockholm archipelago. It is an independent brewery where apple cider, marmalade and jellies are produced in the cider house. Alcohol in all its forms is distilled in the brewery’s beautiful copper boiler and both malt and apple cider vinegar is produced in the vinegar house. And of course a wide range of delicious beer is also brewed.
Stockholm Brewing Co.
Stockholm Brewing Co. is an innovative brewery located in the Stockholm Freeport.
They use organic ingredients and also strive as much as possible to work with local produce, such as wild elder from parks in the city. Herbs and fruits from local organic farms give rise to unusual elements in their wide range of beers.
Their aim is to brew beer that is balanced, easy to drink and faithful to its origins. Furthermore, they have a one-of-a-kind storage room containing old wine vats where they store smaller batches of beer that are later sold as the brewery’s cellar series.
Illustration
Stina Wirsén has worked with illustration, text and design for the past 30 years. Her illustrations can be recognized from the daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter, various fashion campaigns and from children’s books. Wirsén has also been involved in public art commissions and exhibits in museums and galleries both in Sweden and abroad. She has won several awards for her works and has been extremely successful as an illustrator, artist and author alike.
Stina has come up with a number of new drawings and paintings for Restaurant Oxenstierna. Her love of the restaurant scene, food and wine merges into our common narrative. In September she will exhibit paintings, drawings and prints at the restaurant and it is recommended to book a table so as not to miss this.
Graphic design
Tilda is an Art Director focusing on the development of conceptual design. She combines disciplines within graphic design and illustration in order to tell engaging and moving stories. Her goal is to create a visual language and graphic identity that is wholly sustainable in today’s communication landscape.
Tilda joined forces with Design Lab S to design the magazine ”Skärholmen interiör” which in 2018 won the award Sustainable Project of the Year, issued by Form Magazine. Tilda is equally at home traversing the digital and analogue world and has designed books, packaging, interiors and illustrations including websites and social media content.
